I like to know what type of fish I can keep with elephentnose fish to have colourful and healthy environment? my fishtank is about 240liter...

my second question is what type of fish can tolerate the period of break-down in fish tank?

To the best of my knowledge, you should keep Elephant fish on their own.

If you are talking about the cycling period for new tank, then  if you really want to put fish in, then ZEBRA DANIOS  are your best bet.
