Water changes for Betta

Hi. I have 1 Betta in a 10 gal filtered tank. I have 1 aqua clear 20 and the tank is heated to 80 F. My question is do I need to do water changes weekly or can I go every 2 weeks?? Thanks

Hi Michael,
25% water changes are required weekly.  You must keep your ammonia, and nitrite levels zero, and nitrates must be low.  Water changes of 25% weekly ensures you that your water chemistry will remain perfect.  Ammonia, and nitrites are the number one killer of fish, so it is best to do water changes every week.
