finding out if my goldfish is a girl or a boy

Hi my name is katlin i have a goldfish and i can't figure out if my fish is a girl or a boy can you please help me.

Hi Katlin,

This is sort of sad news.  

It's very hard (nearly impossible) to tell the sex of a goldfish.

When some breeds of male grow up, they might get little bumps by the gills showing that they are males, but that takes about a year to happen, sometimes more than that.
