Question
Can you put a Silver Arowana and a Jardini Arowana together in a same tank if it is large enough and start them small I found a place over where I live young baby ones only three inches long if I raise them together will they be fine or are they not compatible?

Answer
Hi Thomas,
I do not think their would be a problem, but you would need a 500 gallon tank.  These fish grow very big, up to 48 inches.  They need lots of room to swim.   You must also think of the cost of food, and a good filter, which is very expensive.  An exterior filter would be needed as they grow.  They are very sensitive to water quality, and it must by well cycled, zero ammonia, zero nitrites, and nitrates must be low.  Water changes every week is a must.  The arowana will eat any fish that fits into his mouth.  He is a good jumper, so a heavy aquarium top is needed.  Before buying these fish, read up on them to see if you can give them a good home.  They are spectacular, beautiful fish, but need lots of care.
