Question
i just purchases a betta fish and i have no clue how long to let the water sit before i put the fish in there? the pet store said a couple of hours but the tag says 2-3 days? what do i do?

Answer
Hi Lauren;

When letting water sit out, the idea is to let it come to room temperature so it's the same as what's in his tank already. A couple of hours is fine. You still need water conditioner as well. Leaving it out for as long as 2 to 3 days will allow chlorine to evaporate, but many water companies now use other chemicals that do not evaporate. Water conditioners take care of that as well as helping the fish with stress.
