Question
QUESTION: Hi Lynda. Voulez vous is a great song. Sorry about the mistake in the name of the song. I have got it plaing righy now actually. It's just got to the first chorus and the bit where they go take it now or leave it. I love that song and so do the fish. I would love to go to Canada one day. I am scared of sharks. I know they don't tend to attack humans like they do in the film Jaws but I am terrified of sharks, especially Great white sharks. I won't get discouraged with the water. The fish need me and I love them. I ama fish nut too lol. Thank you for the praise with the cory catfish. I did ok considering I don't know alot about keeping catfish. My riend bught a new tank and left one fry here by mistake with three other fish in the tank they were in here while I was looking after them. I have always wanted to see blue whales. The shark nets in South africa weren't straight, they were in a zig zag if you know what I mean. They keep catching innoccent dolphins and stingrays and other fish but not many sharks becarlse they swim round the nets. We had to free one dolphin that had a bit of an injury. He is rescued forom the nets so often that his name was Flipper and he loved me. I was caught in a drift current that I didn't know was there drifting out and Flipper saw me and pulled me back to the beach. I never went in the sea there again and neverr will. friendly little dolphin isn't he. The gut who drove the boat on our boat trip said Flipper is the best friend I ever had saving me like that. I'll say. Flipper must really like me to have done that. Do you think Dasher and Comet would do that for me if  they could?
Danielle.

ANSWER: Hi Danielle,
You make me smile.  Unfortunately Goldfish do not have the intelligence Dolphins have.  I love the Dolphins, so sad that they get caught up in nets.  I just hate it when I hear of people going out with nets to catch these big lovely fish, no matter which one...but then when you think of the small ones too, that we have in our aquariums, salt water ones too, come from the sea.  It's sad to see that so many will die, just to please us.  I saw a report on t.v. a while back, and I didn't like it at all.  They catch the fish, bag them up, lots die, and they ship them, and lots die in the shipment.  It is very difficult to breed salt water fish, so most of them come directly from the sea.  They are very expensive too, and very hard to keep.  I won't go into that subject..lol
Have a nice Sunday, and take care.
Lynda

QUESTION: Hi Lynda. I know goldfish don't have the intelligence a dolphin has but I still love them. I think I saw that report too. What is my friend like forgetting one fry and three other fish? It;s a good job I really lve them. I told her she had left them and she said she meant to leave them with me so I don't know if that was a hint. There was an aticle in the advertiser newspaper about ny college that isn't true at all. I am furious at them at the minute. Why don't they leave us alone? I like to make people smile.  I have a gift of knowing how people are feeling before I see them or they  have said anything to me.  Goldfish might not have the intelligence of dolphins, they're still lovely little fish though. Is your daughters goldfish ok? Just wondering if he was ok that's all. The fry is eating well. Very well indeed and I think he has grown a bit too. Dasher and Comet are growing. The water has no ammonia and nitrates at all and the PH is perfect too. It has got a bit clearer too. I have been thinking about what you said and about me losing my goldfish like I am at the minute, and you know your absolutely right. It's not my fault they are all dieng like this. Something went wrong somewhere down the line but where? I won't go into that subject either. I said to the people who reckon it's my fault I have just been very unlucky with fish lately. Sonething happpened beyond my control. The band all say hello to you by the way.
Danielle.

Answer
Hi Danielle,
All fish have an intelligence, it just that some have more than others...Poor Goldfish, they really put them through the mill so to speak.  I guess your friend is leaving you a few fish!!
My daughter's goldfish is alive, and kicking..lol  He's doing great!  It boggles my mind...this fish is strong for sure.  I bought her a big bottle of Stress Coat, and different kinds of food for him, and some little knick knack to put in her tank.  I figured he needed a change..lol  She was happy with the stuff, but thinks I'm overdoing it..I think this fish would be dead years ago if I wasn't around.  Not to boast, but gee, if it was up to her, water changes would be made once a year..lol  She works, and is very busy.  I asked her to give me the fish, but she says she loves him, and doesn't want to let him go.  I told her to look after him right, she should know better.  I gave up on her, but I'm not giving up on the fish!!  She works long hours, and only has Sunday to rest, so I don't mind going there helping out with the tank, and stuff.  It's so easy for me to do...hey..I have big tanks, lots of fish, so to me that little goldfish is no problem.  It's odd though, he never grew bigger, he is the same size he was the day she bought him.  I have never seen a goldfish stay the same size, and it isn't because the tank is too small.  I don't know why, I will have to read up on that.
He's a little terrorist hahaha..we have tried to put other goldfish in with him, but no way will he accept them.  It's so funny!
Time to get ready for work..
Take care, and have a nice week ahead.
Lynda
