hi, please tell me how to sexing cichlids

ok...i was wondering how come some female cichlids have egg spot on their lower back fin too and how can u tell by it color that it a male or female.Because im still very nooby for this hobby.

Hi Acha,
  Many male cichlids from East Africa have egg spots on the anal fin.  Rarely females will have these, in certain species.  

  Telling males from females depends entirely on which species you are interested in.  For example, in some species, the male is one color (blue) and the female is another color (orange) but in other species, the two sexes look identical.
