But I would have to say that both of their gravid spots are more light orange that black as I said they get black and then go away then it looks light orange could you please help me out.

Answer
Hi Joshua;

Female guppies will get a little larger after eating and then get a bit smaller after a bowel movement. You just have to wait it out and see what happens. They have babies about every 6 weeks or so. Sometimes the babies are born when you aren't around and the mother or other fish will eat them too. Or, they can be born too early to survive and they are eaten too. When a female guppy is ready to deliver she will hide more than usual and her belly will get a bit flattish on the bottom and sides. Babies usually arrive within 3 or 4 days.

I'm not a fan of those isolation boxes and nest. They are too small and can really stress the fish out. I like to provide lots of fluffy live plants in the tank for them to hide in and let the mothers just have babies there. The babies will hide in them too and will thrive on the tiny microscopic organisms that live on the plants. Much more natural and healthy.

Good luck!
