Breeding Leopard Danios

Question
I've read on more than 1 website that leopard danios breed like rabbits and are easy to breed. Breeding box with isolation booth below, male/female in the top, over night, when it starts to get light the female will drop her eggs into the isolation booth so she cant eat them, take the fish out leaving just the eggs....watch them grow,(Special fry food for the new fish). Thats just the basics ive found out, there are other details ive read about on the websites but would take me a while to type it all out. Anyway, the problem im having is that when i put the danios in the box they never seem to settle they are constantly looking stressed and theres no way she'll lay if shes stressed. Also, im not sure if ive got the right fish!! Im struggling with the whole Male/female thing! I've been told there are very very similar to the Zebra danios? Any help would be great! Thank You!!!

Answer
The best way to breed zebra danios is to get a 10 gallon tank, and fill it with 7 or 8 danios. Then just let them pair off and breed.

You can make a little cage at the bottom or even use marbles as substrate. You want to make it so the other fish can not eat the eggs, so yes, use an isolation booth for that.

Since it is impossible to sex danio with 100% accuracy, I recommend just getting lots of them. That way the odds are in your favour that there will be at least 1 male or at least 1 female.
