Pregnant Dalmation Molly

Question
Hi Chris,
 How are you today?
 I hope you are well!
 I have 2 dalmation mollies in a 10 gallon tank with some other fish..all freeshwater, all accptable..so not to worry...
One of the 2 Mollies has been chasing the other around constantly for about a month now.  The one he/she has been chasing is most certainly pregnant!  Now, the preg Molly keps to herself in the tank, hides, moves only if she eats..or maybe a tiny bit more than that.  She could have come to us from the pet store pregnant?  I have no idea!
Do you know why the other one is chasing her, how long the gestation period is,(by the way, she is HUGE! She looks as though she is going to explode, seriously, I'm afraid for her)..also, should I be feeding her more often?..if so, how do I do this with all of the other fish in thye tank (stupid question, but I have no clue!!~smiles~..)
I would appreciate kindly any help you could provide!
I look very, very forward to your response..and I hope you have a great labour day weekend...I can't believe the summer is over!..kids back to school...OUCH!  lol
 Thankx Chris,
  Kindly and Sincerely,
  Kate

Answer
Hi Kate;

I am fine, thanks. It's the most wonderful time of the year when the kids go back to school! LOL! My babies (twin girls) just started high school this year and they are so excited about it. Their older brothers (23 and 18) weren't too thrilled. I'm glad our last ones are.

Anyway, about your mollies...... You need more females. Those little males want to breed all the time. It can wear out a female if she is all alone to withstand all his "amorous affections". Add more plants to the tank too. She can hide in them and eat them too. It's very good for mollies because they need veggies in their diet anyway.

I hope all goes well!
