ciclid lighting

Hi there
We are looking to buy some better lighting for our 4ft x 2ft x 2ft ciclid tank and wondered if there was any advantage in T5 marine lighting or is a dual tube light as good.

Hi Mark,
 For a cichlid tank, the lighting is actually really just for you. The fish couldn't really care less and in fact many of them prefer less lighting that what most people put over a fish tank.  Bright lighting can make a lot of the smaller species in particular feel very vulnerable.  So, if you do decide to increase the amount of light, be sure that there are lots of places for your fish to go to get out of it if they so desire.
