Question
I have an oscar who is fighting hard for her life. She has been moved to the hospital tank but I just don't know what to treat!

She is not able to keep herself upright and ends up on the bottom at times on her back. When this happens I have to physically reach into the tank and help her back over or she is stuck this way. Once I get her back up she swims around but not upright and normal. Kind of a horrible slow motion spinning backstroke. When she gets close to the bottom and is about to be lying on her back again she goes into a panic and tries so hard not to end up that way it is almost bringing me to tears.

She is about 3 years old (I got her when she was an inch long) and 10 inches long.
Please help if you can.

Answer
Hi Nat,
Sorry for the delay in answering, I am actually out of the country right now and have only limited access to my email.  Unfortunately, there isn't much advice I can offer in this case because it sounds like your oscar has an internal infection of some sort, likely to the swim bladder and I don't know of any way to effectively treat that.  Sorry.
