Question
I just recently purchased 2 Dalmatian Mollies. One that is nearly black with some white on it and one that is half white/half black. The half white/half black one looks really fat and I was wondering how to tell if she is pregnant as well as the other one. Please help. And if they are pregnant and have babies...how can I safely catch the babies without harming them?

Answer
Hi Lisa,
You cannot tell for sure but being fat is a good sign.

The best way to catch the babies is with a small fish net.  An alternate approach is to put the pregnant female in a tank of her own until she gives birth and then remove the mother.  That way you don't have to try to catch the babies.
