My Sponge

Question
Just today I bought a Betta named Sponge. He is in a 40 gallon tank, and he seems very lonely. I really like Tetra fish [Neon, Glo, etc..], and was wondering if they are compatible. My mum said that any other fish with a fan tail would be killed. Is that right?

Do you mean fan tail goldfish? I'm not sure what the fan tail is referring to, if you are speaking about he betta he may get along with the neons just fine. If you are talking about a goldfish it depends on how large he is. But otherwise Goldfish are relatively peaceful.
