Help me My Jack Dempsey is dying

I am watching my neighbors Jack Dempsey and yesterday he seemed slow and today he has turned sideways and is curled like a banana.  Is he dying?  What can I do?  He is six years old and doesn't have any signs of fungus and the eel that shares his tank is fine.

Hi Linda,
  Unfortunately that is a very bad sign and yes, he is very likely dying.  As for what to do, that is really hard to say because I don't know what led up to this.  Did anything unusual happen to the fish tank, i.e., did anything accidentally go into the tank or something like that?
