Water in beta fish bowl

Is it okay to use room temperature tap water for the beta fish bowl? I'm not sure if it requires chemicals or not.. When I do use it (tap water), the only difference I see is (sometimes) a few small bubbles along the surface edge.

 Yes tap water is ok to use with the Betta. Remember that you have to add a water conditioner to his water every time. This will remove the chlorine and other toxins from the bowl water. But, Betta's do not belong in bowls. He needs to be in nothing less than 2.5 gallons and needs a heater.
