tetra fish

i have a tetra fish.  it look pregnant. i have no other tetras in the tank.  she has been this way for 2 weeks.  how long, if she is pregnant, does it take for a fish to have babies

Hi,
I would doubt very much she is pregnant. You need very specific conditions in which they will breed in, and unless you have just bought her, obviously she cannot be pregnant without other tetras. You should buy some more of the same species as they like to be in groups of over 6, however.
Feed her a very small amount of food just once a day. If, after a few weeks, it has not gone down, contact me again, and I will do my best to tell you what it is and what to do.
