Two year old goldfish

Hi, we won a goldfish two years ago at a fair.  He started out about 1 inch and has grown to about 5 1/2 inches. He is mostly white with patches of gold. Just recently I've noticed he has a red bump on his head just above his eyes. On a human it would look like a raised blood blister. It's just about 1/3 of an inch long and oval shaped. Any ideas what it could be? Any reply would be greatly appreciated. "Goldie" as the children have named him has become part of the family. Thank you, -  Jackie

Is it an oranda goldfish?

If so, that is just part of his normal coloration.

Look up some pics of oranda goldfish on the web, see if any of the bumps look like yours.

Also, you may want to report the fair, I doubt anybody will do anything but giving away goldfish like that is illegal. Not many people really care anyways though, not enforced at all.
