Question
hey i was wondering if you can help me on what i need to start keeping an oscar as a pet..what size tank do i start off with? or what fish can i keep in the same tank?

Answer
Hi Kaimi,
I would not keep an oscar in anything less than a 30 gallon tank and recognize that you will likely have to move it to a 50 gallon tank within a year.  An adult oscar is 12 to 16 inches long.

You really can't keep anything in the same tank as an oscar. Basically, an oscar will eat any fish that can fit in the oscar's mouth.  Oscars are great fish but they don't play well with others.
