lump on the side of my goldfish

hi im jessie and my goldfish has a lump on the side of it do u know what disease this could be and if u do could u tell me how 2 treat it thanks

What does the lump look like? (color, shape, size)
Is it causing his scales to stick out or is it on top of the scales?
Does it have anything coming out of it?
Is he acting normal?
What size tank is he in?
Does the tank have a filter?
How big is the fish?
Does he have tankmates?
