startup fish for a new tank

Hi,

I'm starting up a new 60gal tank given to me by a friend.  I got water filled and an AquaClear 110 powerfilter HOB running, and dont' know what is the best fish to start up the nitrogen cycle.  Can you help me?  Thanks

Hey Jonathan,

Feeder fish are common cyclers. Guppies, or a small group of tetra would also be a nice starter. Keep the numbers small, and the sizes small as well. If you jump out and grab a pair of cichlids, or something large, you will throw your ammonia through the roof.
