Question
My cokatielhad two babies about a month ago. They are feathered and out of the nest. They are not eating by themselves yet. One of the babies flies now and I have heard terrible stories of how itmakes them mean. Is my baby old enough to have its wigs clipped?

Answer
Hello Brianna,

Where did you hear such things? In my persoanl experiance with breeding budgies or parrkeets as they are sometimes called it doesn't make a difference at all if tehre wings are clipped or not... if they are parnet raised and mean they are mean! If you handled you babys alot they shouldnt go mean no matter what if you continue handling them. Its best to wait and allow the bbaies to know how to fly before clipping there wings so they are more.... balenced and know they can flutter if they fall from somewhere at lest and not just plop' on the floor. Be careful the babies wings may still have blood feathers if you see anything dark or dark pink in the middle of the wings feathers don't clip those they may still have blood in them.

I hope this helps if you have any more questions or need more information feel free to ask.
