How often to hand feed a budgie

Question
I have a budgie baby I pulled for hand feeding.  I know people speak against it but it gives me something to do while I am temporarily not working.  These baby seems to be thin but takes in between 5 to 7 ccs of exact baby formula at each feeding.  From what I read the baby should be fed at least every 4 hours (it has feaths for the most part and about 3 weeks old) I am feeding her/him about every 6 to 7 hours depending on how long it takes for the crop to empty.  Is there a possibility I need to had benificial bacteria culter like thrive (ect) to the baby formula to help him/her digest the food better?

Answer
Are you keeping the baby warm enough? sow crop can be contributated to too low of temps, I used to keep my handfeeding babies in a fish tank with lid with  paper towels as bedding and a human heating pad placed under the bedding set on low would do the trick in all but the coldest weather. At that age I fed mine every 4 hours I never coutned how much mine ate I just filled the crop without over filling at each feeding and that was it.
