QuestionMy cockatiel has been getting Lupron shots every 2 weeks to assist the egg laying problem since last March. However, she is still laying eggs! (Just less eggs.) I am wondering if I am missing her cycle and that is why the shots are not working. When should she be getting these shots? I have been keeping a record of the dates she lays eggs each month.
Thanks,
Linda
AnswerHello,
Research says that Lupron may not help prevent egg laying, just minimize it.
Look around at this link, http://www.internationalparrotletsociety.org/lupron.html see if you can find any answers.
Drugs and meds do not always work, but what I would do is contact the vet again, and ask to change the dates of your cockatiels shot.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
