Question
Hello! So i've had a budgie for about a month which i got from a pet store that I've been trying to tame. I've had a bit of trouble with this and wanted to clear up some things. I've heard that not all budgies can be tamed, is this true? Also i've heard in one place that a budgie from a pet store will take four-six months to be tamed and heard elsewhere that if a budgie is not responding within a month then it probably cannot be tamed. So far my budgie is ok with my hand in the cage and if he's in a relaxed mood he'll let me press my finger against his stomach, but has never come close to stepping on my finger. And do you have any taming methods you'd suggest? Thanks!

Answer
Hello it is very true that not all can be tamed older budgies are often the ones that cant be tamed or very flightly Flight raised birds with little human contat before going to there new homes, after one month yes I personaily say if there is little to no inprovment then it is looking pretty grim to taming the bird in question, here is a link to a taming and training page that i think will be of some help to you: http://www.budgieplace.com/taming.html
