-----Question-----
Hello Dianna thanks for the help with selecting a proper diet for my lovebirds previusly, once the littlish chick is weaned I am building a 3 foo wide 4 foot tall and 2 foot deep flight for the foru lovebirds I have the only problem is they all hate each other! the two lutinos which are 8 weeks old now are agressive to the 6 week old chick (they are let out together for play and soclizing time) they bite his back and neck and I have to go push the lutino away and pick him up! the older lovie we have hes a male and 1 year old he bites the lutinos and the greay 6 week old baby...why do they hate each other? the breeders I got the four from(seperate breeder for the older guy) had over 20 lovebirds living together breeding in indoor avairires this is what I'm trying to do house them together so a pair can be formed but I dont want them to kill each other ither.....the flight will be made by the end of aprial for sure perhaps a few weeks sooner so all teh birds will be be young. I decided on the flight because i wanted a large cage that none of the birds were used to to get them together in this way nonone could have already clamied it as thre teratory so to speak, I'd apprecate any insite of links I'm at a lose and none of my bird books even mention introducing the birds.

Hello again Tara.
You are very welcome for the help with the diets for your birds.  It sounds like they are doing good.
If your birds are picking on each other, then they can NOT be housed together or they will kill each other.  You need to keep in mind that lovebirds are extremely aggressive animals and they will kill each other, even though the run will be of a good size.  While building the run, make sure to build it so that the birds are seperated.
One thing about lovebirds is that THEY choose their  lifetime mates at a young age.  Even though THEY have chosen their mates, it is still possible for them to kill their mate.
Introducing them would not be a good idea, in my opinion.  Especially if they are already picking on each other.  They will only get worse.

Let me know how it goes.

God Bless.
Dianna

Answer
Hello again Tara.
Most of the breeders have had their lovebirds since they were young babies, so they are used to each other.  However, even breeder have their share of problems with their lovebirds killing each other, it jsut doesn't seem to be as much because they do not readily tell you this.

God Bless.
