New Parakeet

i just got her yesterday afternoon.i have been talking to her alot. but, she is just sitting at the bottom of the cage. i don't think she has eaten either. what can i do about this?

She is probably frightened. She has been through quite an experience if you think about it. Let her settle, don't handle her for a few days, and just be soft and gentle around her. No sudden movements or noises. If a few days she should be fine. In a few weeks, she will really start to come out of her shell, so to speak...
