Question
hi tara-i have bred cockatiels for many years-some i've handfed-some have been fed by great parents--but i have a new problem i never had before-the parents are feeding their new babies unregergitated seed! the seed fills their crops and stomachs-i was able to save one baby, but lost two.  i have two eggs left from this clutch, and i need to know what to do fast.  thank you

Answer
Hello Rochelle and thank you for your question.

It is inpossible for them to be feeding them seed that isnt regergtated as they cant carry seeds in there mouth and put it in the babies mouth, they can only eat seed then go and feed the babies by regergitating it. Sometiems thou the perants wil give too much food and the ewll be inpacted, they will die if left untreated... problem is I'm not sure if it can be treated. I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about but if you want to ask another question I will try my best to help.
