Breeding a mini stud to a full sized mare

Question
Hi this may sound silly but I have a mini leapard appaloosa stallion and just purchased a full sized leapard appy mare and was wondering if they could breed? If so how would I go about it (or should i say THEY). I am asking because I want a pony in that particular coat type and I just started a petting zoo and pony rides business. They are both of very good bloodlines and absolutly beautiful horses almost the same except for size. Is this possible and if so what would come out? LOL I dont want to buy another and am very curouis to see what would happen. I asume if I could some how get him level with her it could work and would produce a smaller pony sized horse. Im I correct? and if so is this something people do or have done in the past? Is it frowned apon in any way. I am not interested in selling the foal I just cant find a pony in coat pattern in the right price range for me. I would love to bring spots to my shows and add a little color for fun. Would mating them cause any health problems for the foal if in fact it is possible? Thank you so much for you time and I look forward to your answer! I dont think i can afford the AI it looks very expensive and difficult for me. Unless there is some other easier and less expensive way to do it. I hope im not the first person to ask you this, LOL thank you! All answers welcome and appretiated.

Answer
Hi Jamie,
Yes, this can be done. There are two ways thatI have seen it done. Either get or build a very strong platform with a ramp for the mini so that he would be at the right height to breed. You can also put the mare in a ditch and do it that way. AI is not that expensive if you provide and collect your own semen.

Good luck.
