pregnant mare?

I bought a mare at an auction about 4 weeks ago. she is now lactating. does this mean she is pregnant?

Answer
There are several reasons that your mare could be lactating. She could be pregnant, or she could have had a foal pulled off of her. There is also a chance that she may be suffering from a hormone issue. I would recommend that you bring her to the Vets and have her checked out.
