breeding a small mare to a large stud

Question
I have a 15hh, 950lb Appendix QH mare (built like a tb)
I also have a 15hh,1350lb AQHA stallion(Bulldog,foundation type)I would like to cross these 2 because of structure,bldlns,and temperments but am alittle weary about the size diference, would the foal be to large for her to safely deliver?. or  a 16hh lusitano stud?

Hi Nicole,
            The first thing you should do is get a Vet exam to check the size of her uterus and pelvis. If they are of normal size then breeding her to your stallion should not be an issue. If either are narrow then I would be weary of breeding her to him,  as the foal and or the mare could have problems during delivery.
