Pony breeding

Question
We have a 12-1/2 HH pony mare whom we'd like to breed. We'd like to have a foal a little bigger than she is. Can she be bred to a larger stallion? What is the maximum size the stallion could be? I have a freind how said they had a pony accidently get bred to a QH stallion and she foaled just fine. Thank you!

You could breed her to a 14hh quarter horse if she is stocky built- I would go no larger than that. If this will be her first foal-  Keep a careful eye on her- A halflinger stallion would be a good choice to mate her with to get a good built foal suitable for riding.Good luck with her!!!!
