Is she pregnant, or isnt she?!

Question
Hi, I bought my Miniature mare a few months ago, and the origonal owners said that she was pastured with a stud over the summer, but I don't see any signs of her being pregnant!  But then again I'm not an expert on this matter, as I am almost fifteen years old!  I was wondering if there were any obvious signs (other than a huge belly, because she already has one!!!) I can look for.  Thank you so much for your time and help!!!

Answer
Anna, you really need to have a veterinarian check this mare to see if she is pregnant.  Many times when a miniature mare foals, the placental sack is very thick and doesn't break.  If that happens, the foal will suffocate so its very important to be on hand when the mare foals to break open the sack from around the foal's mouth and nose.  Once you've done that, step back and let the mare finish.  Good luck
