Question
QUESTION: ok hear goes
i have a beautiful pony mare with so much jumping talent
but... she does not have any papers
she has a passport but no papers
can i still bread from her??

ANSWER: You might want to get your pony registered first if she is capable of being registered. If she is not capable of being registered then I would not even bother with breeding her. The horse market is not very good right now. There are people giving their horses away for free.

You probably dont want to hear this but I want you to be aware of the overpopulation of horses right now. There are 1000s of horses every year who die because there is just way too many horses to take care of. Their owners start out by breeding two horses and hoping to sell the foal and then fail and then horses are turned loose out into the wild or dropped off at animal shelters and horse rescues. So if you say NO to any of these questions then you should not breed your pony.

* is your pony a purebred?
* has she done anything inrcreible in her life that people are going to want offsprings from her?
* do you have a promising future for the foal?
* will you have a home and a plan ready for this foal?

Answer
Very rarely will someone buy a horse if it is not a purebred...unless it has real talent. You are going to have to work hard to proove that little guy is capable of doing stuff. Starting to train at the age three is a good idea.....but dont rush the foal into jumping. Take it slowly....I've seen so many barrel horses ( I barrel race and train barrel horses) ruined because their owners and trainers start them out way to fast instead of going step by step. So just take it easy.
Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to contact me.
