Horse Heatless!!

Question
Hey how are you doing?

So... I have a 13 year old Mare who has had atleast 3 foals in her life but these were when she was young.  I've owned her for 7 years now and she used to be such a lady.  She was always in heat.  Way more often than other Mares.
Since I moved her away from her old farm, she's not been in heat and this was 5 Months ago now.  She lives with 5 other Geldings who do NOTHING for her.
I really really want to breed her next year but she's showing no signs of going into heat.  Is this normal or do you think she's done?

Answer
Hi- I would move her close to a stallion and that may bring her into heat. 13 shouldn't be too old .I have successfully bred a 30 year old mare. Some mares will not come into heat during the winter months at all. I would have her checked out by a vet to see if there is any problems if the stallion doesn't help any. I have had this happen to one mare- She would come into heat, but be barely noticeable. It did take a stallion teasing her to bring her in. Thanks and good luck!!!
