Hi, Can a mare that you are exsoecting to foal in two weeks to a month have a false heat. She was not palpatated, but the vet was out because of a ashmatic horse, and stated she definitly looked like shes getting close. Than the same day we seperated her, she acted very much in cycle? one day cycle? can she be in foal?

Hi- yes she probably is bred- We have had this happen on occassion- What happens is the mare is getting closer to foaling and giving off the "smell" like she is coming into heat, We have had our stllions go crazy over a mare from about 2 weeks from her due date. It is normal- don't be worried. I wish you the best. thanks
