cat got my snake

Hi, i have had my baby ball python for about two months and he is about 10 inches long. i have no idea how old he is, i found him outside. i got him identified though, thats how i know what hes is.
Anyway, i was gone on a two day trip and when i got home i have found out my cat had busted into his tank. i could not find him, so i went around looking foor him... this was around sunday of last week. Today i found him in the  middle of the floor and when i picked him up he striked at me. he has some cuts in his abdomen and i am worried about how to treat them. i cleaned them with a q-tip and warm water to make sure it didnt get infected but i need to know if i need medicated stuff for it or not. it looks like my cat got ahold of him and one cut inparticular is about quarter of a centimeter deep. thanks a lot.

Hello Caitlin,

For starters for a person to find a ball python outside that is so young is virtually a miracle. If I had found one in the front of my house I would be asking my neighbors if they lost a pet.

You should bring it to a vet to get them to stitch up the wound. They can then give an antibiotic shot to help with healing and prevent infection.
