Corn snake habitat

Question
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me about some simple habitat facts for corn snakes. I would like to know the actual temperature they feel most comfortable in. Also how to keep my snake happy with it's surroundings. What types of substrate,plants/branches are safe and for him. I know he's a breed from the California area if that helps you at all. Please reply in detail if you can. Thank you.

Answer
The easiest setup is a simple aquarium with paper towels or aspen bedding on the bottom. A cool end with a temp of about 70 degrees, and a warm end in the mid 80s. Put the water bowl on the cool end, and a hide box on both the warm and cool ends.

If this is your first snake, I highly recommend the book "The Corn Snake Manual".
