Question
QUESTION: I have a lepard gecko and I have been doing the hand thing but all he does is go in the corner and sleep when I put my hand in. And if he doesn't do that he is trying to climb the wall. Why is that does he see me through the glass and wants me to hold him but I'm just so scared he will hiss and try to bite me what do I do I guess I was spoiled in the beginning when he would do what I wanted this is what I get for going away a week isn't it?

ANSWER: Hi Rachil,
No, it isn't "what you get" for going away for a week.  Your leo is acting like...a leopard gecko... He needs to be given time and patience to get back into the "groove" of you and handling him. Allow him to climb on you..don't try to pick him up or even cup your hand over him...make sure you are not touching his tail...are you sure he is trying to bite or is he just smelling your hand?  They smell with their tongues by pulling the scents into their mouth. By smelling you, they determine if you are the "safe" person or if you are a stranger.  Right now, you a a bit of a stranger to him..he needs a bit of time.. If you feel more comfortable with wearing a very thin leather glove, then do so.
Are you trying to do things with him during the day?  If yes, that can be a problem as they are not daytime critters.  They are active at night.  Try doing things with him in the early evening and see if that helps. During the day most leos prefer not to be bothered. Again, be patient with him. In all honesty, many leopard geckos never learn to like being handled. They may have accepted it at some point then decide it just isn't something they like.  It is something we all have to accept when keeping most any reptile as a pet. Don't give up!!!!

QUESTION: I had a break through last night he climb all the way up my arm and was tunneling through my fingers and licking me but he wouldn't bite just kissed like u were killing him I read to push their back leg to make him walk on my hand to pick him up what is your suggestion?

ANSWER: I'm not sure I understand... he was licking you like you were killing him??  In my last reply to you I told you that they smell with their tongues.  He wasn't trying to or even thinking about biting you..he was smelling you and, as I said before, he is smelling you to see if he recognizes you as a safe place.
If he was crawling on your arm, why not pick your arm up which would allow you to carry him.  You would of course need to make sure he didn't fall or jump off your arm, the same as you would if he was in your hand.
It sounds like he is getting more secure with you again so I'm sure he will climb on your hand with little or no coaxing real soon.  If you want to touch his leg to see if he climbs on your hand, that is up to you.  You will have to watch his reaction though. I WOOULD NOT puch his leg though..just touch it. Personally, I would just let him go at it on his own with no coaxing to see if he does climbs on your hand.

QUESTION: Im just worried about lifting my arm cause I don't want him to jump but I will keep working on it thank u oh can they see through the glass cause whe I get near the glass he try's crawling up my hand but once it goes in the cage he is scared why is that?

Answer
That's why it is important to make sure you are ready to cup your hand over him if he goes to jump. Also, if you just go and sit  or lay down when he is on your arm, he will have fun crawling all over. There really is no reason to just walk around carrying him.
When you go to put your hand into the cage, to him, your hand looks like a big monster swooping down to grab him up to eat.  Try not standing directly over the tank when you reach in so that your whole body doesn't look like a big "monster" to him.
Yes, they can see through the glass when they are close to it but with most aquariums, when they are farther away they only see their reflection.
