lizard surviving a fall

Question
I saw a lizard in the bathroom of my hotel room in Cabo San Lucas.  Don't know what kind.  Brown, tiny, flat, thin, about the size of two thumbnails.  Super cute.  I didn't want I or my roommates to step on it so I asked one of the housekeepers to help me catch it and take it outside.  He and a second housekeeper broke its tail but did catch it.  I asked the second housekeeper not to kill it but take it outside.  He threw my poor lizard off a second story balcony into the grass below.  Now I'm heartbroken because I think he's a goner.  Do you know if a lizard could survive a fall like that?

Leigh,                                                       Unfortunately they grabbed it by the tail and it is a defense mechanism to drop it.... But don't worry it will grow back. They don't have much weight and I think it will be fine. Don't worry!!!!!Tina
