Golden Geckos and hybernation

22 14:42:01

Question
DO Golden Gecko's hybernate?  If so how do you tell they are hybernating and not dead?

Answer
I don't think being native to SE Asia that they do hibernate, as it probably never gets that cold down there, but I have never checked on Goldens specifically. But they may in captivity. Most reptile brumate or aestivate to some degree in the wild, though it may be abbreviated depending on climate.

If it is hibernating it will be responsive when moved or lightly pinched, and it would only do so if it was pretty cold. If it is not, I'm sorry to say that you probably already got your answer before I found this question. Even a hibernating reptile will move some when disturbed. If yours is gone, I am sorry.
