Question
I bought an Albino gecko in Oct of '08 she is a little over a year old and does
not eat. She never really has liked to eat at all. I have tried giving her a variety
of things from worms, crickets, pinkie mice, baby food and the list goes on.
Her cage has warm and cool hides with a humidor and carpet for a substrate.
We thought she could have been depressed because she was in a cage with
other geckos so we adopted another. This made her move around more but
not eat. Our other one is very healthy and eats and goes to the bathroom
regularly.
We brought our little girl to the vet and she said she is healthy but just has a
problem with eating and showed us how to force feed her. She hates this, so I
bought the flukers repti care stuff which I can put on her tongue and she will
lick it up. I have also tried a recipe I found online from a guy that she also
would lick up.
She is getting really skinny and is basically living of her tail fat. I am not sure
what to do anymore and am really frustrated at this point. I have tried
everything. If you know of  anything else I can do that would be great, I
would like to see her survive but I am concerned at this point. Thank you.

Answer
Hello Katie,

Sorry you have had trouble with your girl.  It sounds like you have been trying alot of things.
Do you have an undertank heater being used in combination with a basking light on one end?
I would recommend getting a fecal done, as she could have worms or parasites that are stealing her nutrition & making her sick.
I could continue feeding her since she is not eating anything on her.  Do you keep a small dish of calcium in the tank with her?
Good you are using carpet for substrate instead of sand.

It sounds like she has worms or parasites & needs a treatment or two.
Do you have a vet who will do a fecal on her?
