paint fumes

Question
I have a nearly two year old English Spot/Dwarf mix. My rabbit lives in an upstairs bedroom of my house. In a few weeks, the kitchen, dining room, and living room will be painted (all downstairs) as well as the hallway leading upstairs. Will these paint fumes harm her? Even though it's freezing out, should I keep the bedroom window wide open for ventilation? Should I put a damp towel under the door so the fumes don't come in? Thanks for any information, I'm really nervous about this.

Answer
I would personally try to get her out of the house while the painting was going on, maybe a friend or your vet could board her for a day or 2.

If she has to stay in the house, you would want to use air purifiers and make sure that you don't open or close the doors so fumes can get in.

If you are using latex paint it isn't so bad, but if any other kind I would try to get her out of the house.
