Answer
Hi

Urine scald and burn is usually caused by either an unclean cage or an injury or illness that prevents the rabbit from urinating normally.  The best thing to do is to get the rabbit to a vet as soon as you can.

There are so many things that can cause urine scald.  This list was made by Ms. Dana Krempels Ph.D.  She specializes in the care of rabbits and has excellent resources for pet owners.  Please check out this article..

Make sure the bunny is kept extremely clean until you can get it to a vet.  The sooner the better.  Urine scald is very painful and the underlying cause can be painful also.  If you need help finding a vet please visit

Ms. Krempels also has a link in her site that tells how to give the bunny a butt bath.  This will help keep the bunny clean until you can get it to the vet.

I hope the bunny does ok.

Good luck

Pam
