Question
my rabbit is about 6 weeks old and both ears were standing up when got it but today 1 ear is flopped over like it would be if it was a lop eared rabbit could it have a problem that i can cure or would it need treatement from a vet thx

Answer
Dear Janet

Your bunny is just at the age when the ear will begin to lop over if he has lop parentage.  This is probably normal, and your bunny is at least part lop.

If the bunny is shaking his head or scratching excessively, there could be an infection or ear mites, which should be seen by a vet.  This also can cause an ear to lop over.  You can find a good vet here:

But in the absence of other symptoms, I'd wait it out and see if the other ear lops down, too.  Sometimes a bunny will have only one lop ear, if he's not the child of two lop parents.

Hope this helps.
