hi, im trying to presuade my mom to  get me a mini lop rabbit , because if i do get one i LOVE the floppy ears =)
i just want to get a little background on them .
how often do you need to buy more food ?
whats the average price of a mini lop rabit?
do they like to be both inside and outside ?
how long do they live ?
and do you know anywhere to buy one near salem new jersey?

Okay first I suggest you check out this website, I am not familier with New Jersey so I think this would be the best way to find out if there are any breeders in your area, also if you find someone even if they do not have the breed you want they will probably be able to tell you who does and where they are located, or if there is going to be a show in the near future in  your area you could attend.

As for buying more food, it really depends on what size rabbit you have, how big of a bag you buy, and how much you feed your rabbit.  At the moment I have 10 rabbits and 11 babies under 3 wks. I buy food in 40lb bags and usually buy one every 3-4 weeks.

Average price in a petstore is going to run $40+  however if you buy from a breeder you can usually find a pet quality (not showable due to color issues generally or incorrect body type, still make great pets) for anywhere from $10-30+

Housing rabbits either inside or outside is fine, however you have to make sure that you are providing correct enviroments for them.  Also bringing them inside and outside all the time can make them sick or stressed due to the constant temp change and not being able to get used to one temp.

Rabbits generally live between 5-10 yrs depending on genetics, care and enviroment.
