Rabbit behavior change concerns

Question
I have had a dwarf rabbit for about 6 months and throughout most of it, she has been fairly good, but lately she has been worrying me. Ever since we brought her home, she was very nosy and hyper, always wanting us to take her out and hold her, recently, however, within the last week, she has changed dramatically. When any of us approaches her cage and opens it to go near her, she makes a noise that sounds a lot like growling. she even tried to bite me once. After we finally get her out, she acts fairly normal, though her heart beats faster than normal and she shakes. I know that that is probably in large part due to the trauma of getting her out, but I don't want to just leave her alone in the cage when she is being like this. She doesn't appear to have any physical problems, so I just don't know what to do about this drastic behavior change. Should I take her to a vet? Can you give me any kind of advice? We are all very worried about our bunny.

Answer
Hi
Dont worry, i have had the same problem with my raabit.

Remeber female rabbits are now coming into season (mateing time). So they do start to get really naughty. When the season is over they will soon go back to normal.

But you shouldent let your rabbit get away with this. You should tell her of when ever she is naughty. When she growls make sure you say "NO" in a firm voice. and give her a smack on the nose. She should not be allowed to do whatever she wants.

Plus when you want to pick her up, YOU MUST. Just because she is being naughty and growling doesnt mean you give up trying to catch her. If you want to pick her up then do. Dont walk away from her. Show her no matter what she does, she is going to do what you want. You are the boss, she isnt.

None of this will hurt your rabbit. It is just telling her to learn some manners. But dont worry she will get back to normal. But if you ever thing you want to take her to the vet then do so.

I hope i have been able to help.
