Question
Lionhead
Hello, I got an albino lionhead the day before yesterday. His fur looks normal but he doesn't seem to me like a lionhead; instead of a mane he has some wisps of longer hair between his ears, with a very light baldness in that area. I guess he is about 4 months older but do not know for sure. Is it possible for his mane to develop later, or he might just not have the mane gene? Could it be a health problem? He is very active, playful and friendly, though. Thank you!
AnswerDear Bita,
What a cutie! :)
The lionhead "mane" genes are probably several, and many breeders have been crossing pure lionheads with other breeds to improve their grumpy personalities. So you might have a cross.
Only time will tell whether his mane will fill out. But he's very cute the way he is.
I wish you all many happy years together!
