what to do with a cute little bunny

Question
Hi guys,
First, I'll say I don't live in the US, but you might be able to help me.

My husband rescued a stray bunny -- it was hiding under our cars, and he was worried it would be killed by ferel cats if left out o/night, so he spent three hrs trying to catch it. Problem: what do we do with her? She's v small and so cute! but we're not really bunny people, and not set up to keep one. I don't want to hand her in because she will get put down, and the only people we know who keep bunnies use them for food. I've spammed all my friends trying to find an adopter, to no avail. We have indoor cats, and so right now the bunny is in our (large) cat carrier in the garage. I'm at a loss as to who to go to about this. Last resort, we'll hand her in, but I don't really want that. Suggestions??

Answer
Jen, I do not live in the States either.

Love her and teach the cats to love her - they are such nice pets and the cats ,once over the kill instinct love them too and treat the bun like a kitten.

Other then that I would give her to the people who use them for food - it is better that she lives at least part of her life in good hands and then goes in a friendly way.  Most people who raise rabbits for meat take good care of their animals and love them until they are big enough to send over the rainbow bridge in a humane manner.

( I am a rabbit breeder in Mexico - I raise breeding stock for meat rabbits and take very loving care of my babies )
