Question
I have a few concerns about adopting a pair of rabbits from a shelter and keeping them indoors

First of all if I adopt a pair can the bond break, what happens if it does, are there any early signs of this, and what happens if one needs surgery or if there is any other reason for seperation.  Also, what if one of them is eating more than their share of food and how do I indentify this?

I s there any risk that getting them from a shelter might mean they are not trustworthy of humans and may be aggresive?

What do I do in the summer if they are indoors.Do they still need time outside,as I've read they are more prone to infectious diseases when they have time outside, I can get some grass to grow in a seed tray and give them that to play with now and then.  Where is the best place to put the cage indoors, and how do I give each rabbit a seperate hidey place?

Is there any tips to make them live longer?

I am so sorry there are so many questions, please can you try your best to answer them or give me some links. Thanks so much

Answer
Some times rabbits don't bond at all, so if you do get a pair, you will need to get one that has been together the whole time. Surgery is not common in rabbits, and more than likely other than fixing the rabbits, it they will never have to have one.
Sometimes rabbits in shelters have been mistreated so they will be leary of people. These are the best ones to get really, because then you gain  thier trust, and the bond you will make with them will be stronger. They will not  need time out doors unless you want to take them out. Make sure that you can easily catch them so that they don't run away. Just be careful when taking them out that they do not get wet. Grass isn't really healthy for them, so a grass tray will not be nessassary. Feed them extra hay and small amounts of pellets. They will be just fine.
www.islandgems.net list tons of information on owning rabbits. For your pet rabbits click on the link that says CARE. you will find useful information on the entire site though.
